My father and both of my grandfathers had vegetable gardens, and when we bought our house in Somerville, Massachusetts in 1998 I started growing vegetables as well. I've been expanding it each year, and this year was definitely the biggest and most successful.

This area in the back yard used to be perennial flower garden, but in the last two years I've converted it to tomatoes and herbs.
